Welcome Aboard

We are Tucsonans supporting the crew and families of the USS Tucson SSN 770.  Through the generous donations from our members and corporate sponsors, we providing a network of support and resources to ensure the well-being of the Tucson crew and families, both at sea and on shore.  We are the liaison between the city and the crew.  We coordinate crew visits to Tucson, AZ for special events. We also provide information on how to visit the boat when in port. We are a wholly volunteer Not-For-Profit organization with a passion to support our crew and families. The 770Club works together with the Tucson Family Resource Group (FRG), which consist of spouses and families of the crew. When the boat is deployed, they are our main contact to keep us updated on the needs of the families. We also work with them on FRG events when the boat is deployed.

The USS Tucson 770 Club was started in 1994 upon the notification of a submarine being named the "TUCSON". Initial contact was made with the skipper, CDR Duane Baker and a support team was created here called "The USS Tucson Commissioning Committee". After commissioning, the Committee was dissolved and a concern group of Tucsonians, desiring to keep the liaison continuing, formed the Club under the auspices of the Navy League - Tucson Council. The 770 Club is now a stand-alone organization promoting the welfare of the crew and families of the USS Tucson.
